Threads can visit your school, place of business, or organization to share DANCE and its connective power through a variety of workshops, lecture demonstrations, and/or learning residencies that can be tailored to your needs. We can also host an event at Threads Dance Nexus. See a selection of possible offerings below.

Our Offerings

  • Provides lessons in Ballet and Modern techniques and Embodied movement exploration, which uses movement to identify, define, and alleviate tension and stress. Discussion in nutrition is also weaved into these lessons. Segments of choreography can be created on and with the youth dancers, which can be shared in a mini-performance at completion.

  • Moving Towards Joy is a powerful workshop that combines movement, introspection, and journaling to guide each individual toward a more joyful and peaceful self. Participants will define their own ‘joy,’ explore movements that release tension and stress, and create movements to explore joy, healing, and connection. This workshop can be modified to be age-appropriate for any youth group and has been a resounding success among adult participants, as well.

  • An exploration of movement and poetry in which participants merge their written expressions with dance, resulting in literary-inspired choreography. The workshop aims to foster a deeper appreciation for both poetry and choreography while exploring the physiological benefits of the synergy between movement and words. This workshop can also be modified to be age-appropriate for youth and has been presented in partnership with an award-winning poet to groups of adults.

This can be combined with a movement workshop taught by the Professional Dancers that coincides with the work presented.
